How it works

Set it up once.
The rest runs itself.

You send. We deliver, in real time, from servers in Switzerland.

01 / Sending methods

Which method suits you?

Four ways, one destination. Choose by location, connection and speed, set once for each stream.

RTMP

The classic for the hall and the studio.

BEST FORA fixed installation with wired internet.
WHAT YOU NEEDOBS, vMix, Wirecast or a hardware encoder. You copy the server address and the key from the portal.
ON A POOR CONNECTIONLost packets stay lost. That’s no problem on a wired network, but it is on the move.

02 / To the viewer

Ultra-Live or LL-HLS.
You decide.

Ultra-Live, our delivery method with the shortest delay, is for real time and interaction. LL-HLS suits large audiences. You choose for each stream, or use both.

Ultra-Live WebRTC0.16 s
LL-HLS2 to 5 s
Suited to
Ultra-LiveConversations, guests on camera, anything where someone should join in.
LL-HLSLarge audiences and broadcasts where nobody joins in.
Picture · same quality levels
Ultra-LiveSwitching between levels takes 0.5 to 0.6 s. The Original level isn’t available when the encoder sends B-frames.
LL-HLSSwitching between levels takes 0.6 to 1.3 s. The Original level is available with every encoder.
Stability
Ultra-LiveCan fail behind company firewalls. The player then falls back to LL-HLS.
LL-HLSWorks everywhere, including behind company firewalls.
Rewind
Ultra-LivePossible.
LL-HLSPossible.
Seats
Ultra-LiveLimited separately for each plan, and lower than the total number of viewers.
LL-HLSThe total number of viewers in your plan.

04 / Equipment

What you need.

01

Camera

From a webcam to a studio camera. For a meeting, a laptop is enough.

02

Streaming software

OBS is free. vMix, Wirecast, a hardware encoder or the browser work too.

03

Upload

What counts is the upload, not the download. It has to be at least as fast as the bitrate you send.

04

Microphone

Good sound matters as much as the picture, and often more.

05 / Who does what
